Company's senior VP of business operations will succeed Peter Blackmore.
ShoreTel has named its senior VP of business operations, Don Joos, to be the company's new president and CEO, succeeding Peter Blackmore, who announed his retirement in May.
In his previous position, Joos oversaw approximately 50% of the company's operations, managing engineering/R&D, product management, global support and services, IT, quality and operations, according to the company's announcement. He "was instrumental in evolving the company’s business strategy" as ShoreTel evolved from a strictly CPE provider to a mix of premises and cloud offerings following the acquisition of M5 Networks in early 2012.
Joos came to ShoreTel in 2011 from Avaya, where he'd spent nine years and was instrumental in the integration of the Nortel enterprise business after Avaya acquired Nortel in 2009, according to CRN.
