Gores Group, together with Tennenbaum Capital Partners, another private equity firm, acquired Enterasys in 2006.

Various media outlets are quoting German newspaper reports that the new front-runner to acquire Siemens Enterprise Communications is The Gores Group, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm that also is a part owner of Enterasys, the LAN/WAN switching company. Gores Group, together with Tennenbaum Capital Partners, another private equity firm, acquired Enterasys in 2006.The press reports indicate that Cerberus, the private equity firm that had been a leading contender to acquire Siemens Enterprise, had been supplanted by Gores Group.
