Here's an interesting video that our sister site Internet Evolution put together, featuring interviews with Marty Parker of UCStrategies and Bruce Morse of IBM:

In the video, Bruce provides a perspective on how IBM sees Unified Communications and Collaboration (which IBM labels as UC2) evolving in the business environment.

Bruce emphasizes the "Intelligence" of communications by enabling the UC2 system to know enough about the user's location, status, devices, and activities to determine the best approach for each communication task - the best modality, the best device, etc. He also emphasizes the unified user experience in which the collaboration and communication tools are seamlessly built into the user's work environment, whether that is application software, a team workspace, a social network, or a customer communication portal.

Marty Parker, consultant with UniComm Consulting, and a contributor on NoJitter.com and at VoiceCon conferences, joins Bruce to comment on the larger environmental trends related to Bruce's comments, and to emphasize the power of mobility, the importance of security, and the conversion of the cost savings from UC2 into investments in improved business processes and competitive differentiation for the enterprise.
