From Phil Edholm: Wear pants.Aside from the funny anecdote, read that whole post, and you get some idea of the counter-arguments, or counter-pressures, to the idea that telepresence and video are going to take over the world. The main takeaway for me is that culture is going to be one of the bigger obstacles. Phil concludes optimistically, but I think like so many New Year's resolutions, his is going to be a challenge to keep.

Before coming to BCR, he was managing editor and senior editor of America's Network magazine, covering the public telecommunications industry. Prior to working in high-tech journalism, he was a reporter and editor at newspapers in Connecticut and Texas.
