Here's a report from our sister site ChannelWeb on Cisco's layoffs, in which the company confirms the reports. The number may not be huge relative to the company's size, but the fact that it's Cisco, probably the strongest company in the industry, gives another indication--like we needed one--of the severity of the overall economic situation.In speaking with ChannelWeb, Cisco seemed to push back against the figure of 2,000 layoffs that the Wall Street Journal broke.The company confirms the reports.
